Es liegt etwas außerhalb der Innenstadt im lebhaften Viertel „Les Bassins à Flot“, nur wenige Meter vom beeindruckenden „Cité du Vin“ (Weinmuseum mit Erlebnisausstellung ) und der Markthalle „Les Halles de Bacalan“ entfernt. Der Stadtteil ist erst in den letzten Jahren direkt an der Garonne aus einem Lagerhallen- und Hafengebiet als Ausgehviertel von Bordeaux entstanden. Dank der Straßenbahn ist man in weniger als 15 Minuten im historischen Zentrum. Der einzigartige Eingang des 4-Sterne-Designhotel ist durchaus als theatralisch bezeichnen, betritt man das Hotel doch durch 36 Meter hohe Betonsilos. Hinter den Silos versteckt sich ein Neubau mit Garten, der mit ungewöhnlichem Design überrascht. Die Ausstattung in den öffentlichen Bereichen ist farbenfroh und gemütlich. Im aktuellen US-Präsidentschaftswahlkampf hat Donald Trump eine neue Gegnerin. Die ersten Attacken der Republikaner gegen @vp @kamalaharris sind wie erwartet unter der Gürtellinie und man versucht sie persönlich zu diffamieren. Dabei geht es um die Art und Häufigkeit des 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬, als würde es keine anderen gewichtigeren Argumente geben. Frauen die lachen sind weder dumm noch gefährlich! Warum mich diese Schmutzkampagne gerade so anfasst? Ich ecke mit meiner Art und meinem lauten Lachen auch manchmal an und sorge für den ein oder anderen Augenroller bei Mitmenschen. Ob mich das stört? Manchmal schon, denn wem tut es schon weh, wenn ich herzlich und laut lache? Aber man muss wohl akzeptieren, dass sich andere dadurch gestört fühlen oder genervt sind. Über die Gründe kann ich nur spekulieren. Nur wenige wissen, dass ich 2001 eine halbseitige Gesichtslähmung (Fazialisparese) hatte und ganze 8 Wochen um mein Lachen beraubt war ohne die Gewissheit, dass die Lähmungserscheinungen der Mimikmuskeln wieder verschwinden. Ich sah beim Sprechen aus wie Popeye, man konnte mich nur schwer verstehen, Essen war schwierig und beim Trinken habe ich gesabbert. Keine leichte Zeit. Während meiner Genesung habe ich mir geschworen, dass wenn ich mein Lachen wieder bekomme, genieße ich das Leben in vollen Zügen und schaffe mir ein Leben und Umfeld, in dem ich viel zu lachen habe. Also lache ich viel und oft vor Freude, über Witze, Situationen und über mich selbst. Manchmal ist mir auch nicht zum Lachen zumute. That's life! Fazit: Du weißt nie, was Dein Gegenüber schon erlebt hat. In diesem Sinne: Keep laughing. Keep shining. A client recently confirmed a meeting at @EsplanadeZagreb Hotel. Esplanade Zagreb Hotel is an architectural gem, opened in 1925 as a refuge for passengers from the Orient Express. At the beginning of the 20th century, the two best-known inns of the time became too small for the increasing number of travelers arriving in Zagreb on the famous Orient Express train. A new luxurious hotel became a necessity. The hotel was to be built on a large field, near the railway station. The name “Esplanade”, meaning “field” has been given to the Hotel. During my trip to Stockholm I took the chance to visit the NOFO Hotel, a beautiful design hotel in Södermalm, which was long a working-class neighbourhood. For many years, this colourful area has also been known as „Sofo“ (South of Folkungagatan), Stockholm’s answer to the trendy SoHo districts in London and New York. @nofo_hotel_winebar is located in a listed building from the 18th century, which was originally a brewery. Als Eventmanagerin teste ich natürlich immer wieder auch Restaurants, die ich vielleicht für Firmenevents nutzen kann. Gestern war ich in der @schreiberei_muc, nur einen Steinwurf vom Marienplatz entfernt. Das Restaurant von Sternekoch Tohru Nakamura und Marc Uebelherr befindet sich in der ehemaligen „Stadtschreiberei“ von München, gleichzeitig dem ältesten Bürgerhaus der Stadt. Hier wurde von 1552 bis 1612 die Stadtgeschichte niedergeschrieben. Bei schönem Wetter ist der ruhige und geschützte Innenhof mit dem Genießerbrunnen und dem Blick in die Küche wirklich einladend. Im Restaurant sitzt man gemütlich in einem gotischen Gewölbe das denkmalgerecht restauriert wurde und genießt raffinierte Gerichte und Cocktails. Mein Lieblingsplatz wird sicher die Lounge mit der schönen Bar. Im ersten Stock kann man im Fine Dining Restaurant „Tohru“, das mit zwei Sternen prämiert ist, stilvoll dinieren. During MICE Forums, we always have networking time to mix and mingle with buyers and suppliers during an afternoon activity. I decided to take a stroll through the pretty alleyways of Positano, with its pastel-coloured houses zigzagging on top of each other, small art galleries and local vendors selling limoncello, colourful ceramics and lemon sorbet dressed up in a frozen lemon shell. È molto buono! Positano is home to one of the most famous and majestic hotels in the world, which served as the backdrop for Diane Lane’s tempestuous romance in the film „Under the Tuscan Sun“, the @lesirenuse. We ended with drinks and snacks at @blubarpositano. WELCOME 2024! Slightly late I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous year! At the end of the year, I took two weeks off for an Ayurveda holiday in Sri Lanka. It was a long time ago, that I allowed myself to pause. Last week I had the opportunity to experience a new ship concept with @Transcend.Cruises and @HelmsBriscoe Cruises. Thanks to the whole team around Hans, Carmen and to @carolemck and @kellybattles for the warm welcome and hospitality. Rome is always worth a visit. 🤗🇮🇹. Two weeks ago, I was invited by Hilton Hotels to a gratitude weekend in Rome with other colleagues from @helmsbriscoe. Thanks to our hosts at @romecavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel and @fditaly_dmc for all the effort that was put in that amazing weekend. All the arrangements were lovingly chosen and everything was well organized. Although I have already been to Rome several times, I was able to discover new sides of the city. Or do you know the Palazzo Colonna, one of the largest and oldest privately owned Roman palaces? We drove through narrow streets and along busy boulevards in environmentally friendly golf cars and were able to listen to our guide’s Gianni exciting and fascinating comments and stories about this great city and the sights. Bei den Hotelrecherchen für meine Firmenkunden stoße ich immer wieder auf Hotelkonzepte, die zwar nicht für Corporate Meetings geeignet sind, aber mich mit Ihrem Konzept und Design begeistern. Wie traurig. Das Gericht hat entschieden, dass der Besitzer des "HappyGoLucky" die farbenfrohe und großflächige Street-Art Fassade seines Hostels in Berlin-Charlottenburg bis 1. Oktober grau oder beige überstreichen muss. Nach einem jahrelangen Rechtsstreit hat das Oberverwaltungsgericht damit der Klage des Ordnungsamtes Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf stattgegeben. Zur Begründung hieß es, die farbenfrohe Fassade des irischen Künstlers @dombrowneart passe nicht in die Umgebung und die Fassadengestaltung verstoße gegen den Denkmalschutz und das baurechtliche Verunstaltungsverbot. Dazu gehört am wichtigsten Tag die Führung zu übernehmen, einen kühlen Kopf zu bewahren und seinen Kunden zu helfen, dasselbe zu tun. 😉 Fazit: Am Ende ist wunderschön, Menschen dabei zu helfen, Erinnerungen zu schaffen, die ein Leben lang halten und ihre ganz persönlichen Planungen und Ideen Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen. During my last trip with @miforums and @georgiatravel I was impressed about the @Stamba.hotel in Tbilisi, which is housed in the same 1930s former publishing house as the @rooms.hotels, both headed by @adjaragroup. 🇬🇪 With 62 design-led guest rooms, unique restaurant and bar concepts, cultural spaces, Stamba Hotel is an eclectic experience that embraces the spirit of urban conversion, design aesthetics and commitment to local culture. The hotel’s very spacious 56 sqm guest rooms feature high ceilings, large windows and curated artwork by Georgian artists. It’s all about the public spaces here. I like that Stamba has been designed to encourage interaction between international guests and locals in the public areas, including two courtyards dedicated to social activities and events. The creative outdoor terrace overlooks the hotel’s gardens, a sprawling quadrangle that doubles as an amphitheatre and outdoor exhibition space. Café Stamba Chocolaterie & Roastery (my place to be!) serves a premium selection of coffee made from beans roasted on site. And the coffee menu comes with a selection of handmade artisan chocolate. Site Inspection für ein neues Messepojekt auf der @messe_berlin im Berliner Ortsteil Westend des Bezirks Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Am schönsten fand ich das „Palais am Funkturm“, das in den Jahren 1956/57 nach den Plänen von Bruno Grimmek als eine der schönsten und modernsten Gast- und Veranstaltungsstätten Deutschlands errichtet wurde. Die außergewöhnliche Raumgestaltung des unter Denkmalschutz stehenden „Palais am Funkturm“ mit seinem charmanten Stil der 50er Jahre bietet #Meetingplanner und #Eventplanner eine einzigartige Möglichkeit für Messe- und Kongressveranstaltungen, Bälle, Bankette und Empfänge. Just about two hours away from Tbilisi, I stayed at the amazing @radissoncollectiontsinandali. This hotel is located in the heart of the Kakheti wine region. The complex in Tsinandali embraces the memorial house of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, a landscape 18-hectare garden, a historical winery, wine cellar, hotel and a café. The vineyards have been restored and wine production has resumed. Incidentally, Georgian wine was bottled for the first time at the Tsinandali winery. The wine cellar houses the Prince's private wine collection with bottles from 1814. 🍷🍇 With a redesign led by Spanish architects John Fotiadis, Christina Gabas and Damien Figueras, and interior design by world-renowned industrial and lighting designer Ingo Maurer, as well as Georgian sculptor Tamara Kvesitadze, the hotel now beautifully combines past and present. Just opposite the lush Stadtpark in Vienna, a new jewel is being designed. Site Inspection @almanacpalaisvienna which newly opened in March 2023 and is currently on hotel soft launch stage. The 31 rooms and 80 suites with their natural color scheme and luxurious materials combine contemporary interior design with the imperial history of two historic city palaces. Denver, the home of a big blue bear 💙🐻📷 On Fourteenth Street between California and Stout, the statue is seen peering into the Colorado Convention Crnter @cccbluebear in Downtown Denver. I was very lucky to explore and qualify this fantastic 170-room hotel in a former silk factory for possible events for my clients. The rooms and common areas are arranged around a courtyard. The entrance lobby opens onto a Glass Cube - an all-glass lounge decorated with plants and exuding a welcoming atmosphere. All the furniture is locally made. Lake Como has been the location of many a movie, including ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones’, and ‘A Month by the Lake’. For centuries Como has been famed for its dramatic setting, fairy-tale villages, and now the catwalk of A-listers who own villas on the shores. Das Gebäude wurde von Mihály Pollack, dem Architekten des Ungarischen Nationalmuseums, für Baron József Brudern entworfen. Baron Brudern selbst wohnte im zweiten Stock, und im Erdgeschoss befanden sich 32 Geschäfte. Die Geschäfte waren die elegantesten und luxuriösesten in der Stadt. Zwischen 1909 und 1913 von der ungarischen Zentralbank als Hauptsitz umgebaut. Heute ist das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude das wunderschöne "Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest" mit einer Mischung aus Art Deco, Neogotik, maurischen und Jugendstildetails. Die maurischen, gotischen und arabischen Designelemente an Fassade, Türmchen, Glaskuppeln, Treppenhäuser und Keramik-, Metall- und Holzverzierungen des Gebäudes wurden sorgsam durch die Renovierung erhalten. Traumhaft schön!
